I don't actually know Frost and Hirsch personally so can't really say whether they are practising what they preach. And you're right, there is only one "must read". "Of the making of many books there is no end..." The Bible is definitely number one. However, as we need to interpret the Scriptures and apply them, it is not unhelpful seeing how other brothers and sisters are doing it.
